Louis Benainous is a sailor and photographer residing in Berkeley, California.

My photographic journey began the day my father, also a photographer, gave me my first camera – at the age of 13. It was an Agfa brand, fixed lens, 35 mm. Without a light meter, every exposure had to be guessed.

The photos in these galleries represent a variety of my interests, as well as phases of my life. Photography has so many genres and they nearly all interest me in some way. I've explored quite a few of them.

My other occupation is managing Bay Design Associates, a marketing and web design firm in Berkeley. When not working, I can often be found on my CS-30 sailboat, Blue Note.

The most frequent question I'm asked is about my name. It is pronounced: ben' a noose. It is a French North African name.
